Recreation and leisure activities are critical dimensions of the quality of life for all people. They serve as a vehicle to have fun, meet new friends and develop skills. Enrolling in a recreational activity can be beneficial in teaching critical life-long socialization skills.

The Friendship Circle of North Broward and South Palm Beach CountyInnovative programming and creative activities are designed to foster a relationship between community teenagers and special needs children by drawing on the love, boundless energy and dynamism of our teenage population.

Friendship House –  provides support to individuals with special needs and their families by providing recreational, social, and educational programming. The Friendship House also enriches the lives of the volunteers by enabling them to reap the rewards of selfless giving.

Kiso Swim School provides water safety and swimming education while promoting a healthy lifestyle, via positive constructive coaching, as well as instilling strong core values imperative to growth and development in the sport of swimming and in life.

Love Serving Autism provides a Specialized Therapeutic Program Focusing on Tennis, Communication and Life Skills for Children and Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and Developmental Challenges.

The Miracle League Palm Beach County provides the opportunity for all children, regardless of their mental or physical abilities, to enjoy playing baseball.

Personal Ponies Ltd, Inc. promotes an “I CAN” attitude by allowing the child to interact through tasks such as grooming, handling, stall maintenance and feeding the pony.  It is our goal this “I CAN” attitude will carry over to school, family and social settings.”

Peter Blum Family YMCA of Boca Raton Chase Donoff Special Needs Program – “Chase’s Place” offers a variety of programs for children, teens, and adults with special needs. Activities include homework time, games, sports, swimming and field trips. The program also includes after school care programs, school break camps (winter, spring break, and summer), “Fun Days” (days off from school) and weekend respite care opportunities.

Special Olympics FloridaPalm Beach County provides year-round sports training and competition to children and adults 8 years of age and older with intellectual and developmental disabilities.  We currently offer 17 different sports, as well as a Young Athletes Program for children between the ages of 2-7.

Surfers for Autism unlocks the potential of people with developmental delays, support advocacy for autism issues and scientific research. Our focus is to eliminate stigma through public awareness and education and to unite communities through volunteerism.

Swim LessonsMeadows Park Pool – Adaptive Aquatics is a one-on-one swim lesson instruction program for children and adults with special needs. This program is designed to help participants move beyond feeling comfortable in the water and develop better swimming techniques through adaptive methods. Our goal is provide each student with an environment that encourages growth and improvement through structured learning.

12th Man Football & Cheer Camp – This free one-day camp is designed for those in our community who because of a special need or disability have not had the opportunity to be involved with organized football or cheerleading.  Regardless of the need or disability, each participant will receive personalized instruction from the coaches.  Our coaches are from the football and cheerleading fields who love each sport but more importantly love to teach each sport.

Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center PATH is an accredited center that offers therapeutic riding, therapeutic carriage driving, Hippotherapy, and drill team programs.

We Rock the Spectrum was founded to provide a place for children of all ability levels to play and grow together. As the only kid’s gym that offers an all-inclusive philosophy we have found all children can benefit from our uniquely designed sensory equipment that is specifically designed to aid children with sensory processing disorders. However, in our experience, all children are able to benefit greatly from this equipment and by allowing children of all ability levels to play together they are able to learn a great deal from each other and become the best motivation for success on every level.

Yachad, The National Jewish Council for Disabilities provides inclusive social/recreational activities and events throughout South Florida.  Yachad / NJCD is dedicated to enhancing the life opportunities of individuals with disabilities, ensuring their participation in the full spectrum of Jewish life.
